Common Counsel is a technology platform — not a law firm. Independent partner attorneys provide the legal work. Because our platform makes their work more efficient, you get transparent flat prices.
Every price you see is the recommended default we suggest attorneys in our network charge. A portion is a platform fee to Common Counsel — for intake, coordination, and the tools your attorney uses on your case. The rest is a legal fee paid to your independent partner attorney. Attorneys have full control over what they charge and may decide to charge something different. If they charge more than our published price, Common Counsel subsidizes the difference — so you pay what we quoted, no matter what your attorney charges.
We use AI to match you with the right independent partner attorney for your matter, based on the issue, jurisdiction, and your goals. Our partner attorneys are independent — they set their own rates and practice however they choose. They partner with us because our platform makes their work more efficient.
Common Counsel is a technology and coordination platform. We do not provide legal services directly. Legal services are provided by independent partner attorneys. No attorney-client relationship forms until you sign an engagement letter directly with your attorney.
Flat fees assume one primary goal; extended negotiations, litigation, or non‑standard complexity may require a custom quote. Court/agency/recording/process fees are separate unless stated otherwise.
